News

Purpose

The general purpose of this society is to promote a greater devotion to Our Lord by an active religious life and frequent reception of the Sacraments. We also assist the members to participate more intimately in the life of the Church, foster the ideals of the Confraternity of Christian Mothers, perform special works as are assigned by the Reverend Pastor, provide for the needs and maintenance of the church and objects in the church, and actively promote projects that bring our parish church family closer to our Lord and to one another.

Projects

• First Friday Adoration (12:00 P.M. Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament followed by Benediction at 6:00 P.M.)
• Rosary Recital on the First Tuesday of every month at 5:10 P.M.
• Nursing Home Visitations
• Christmas and Easter Memorial Candles
• Annual Easter Egg Hunt
• Annual Christian Mothers Mass
• Womens' Retreats
• Annual Charitable Donations
• Help with First Communion, Confirmation, Baccalaureate Mass and other religious celebrations
• Annual Garage Sale
• Monthly Newsletter
• Providing and caring for articles for our church such as Altar Cloths, Flowers, Sacristy and Altar items
• Preparing the church for Weddings, Funerals, Baptisms and other special events

Meetings

Monthly meetings are held on the last Tuesday of each month at 6:00 P.M. in Mays Lacour Hall.

Members

Any lady who is Catholic and a registered member of Sacred Heart Church Parish in Moreauville may become a member. Upon death of a member, the members shall assemble at a suitable time to recite the rosary. All deceased members are remembered by a Mass requested by the Society. Duties of members include:

1. Paying dues,
2. Attending meetings,
3. Attending and helping with events and projects,
4. Praying for all parishioners,
5. Receiving the Sacraments, and
6. Enjoying the benefits of the opportunity to serve Our Lord, our Church, our Parish, and our fellow members.

Dues

Dues are $20.00 per two year membership.

Members 75 years of age or older are awarded free life-time membership, if having spent the two previous years as paying members.

Even though the Confraternity of Christian Mothers is a worldwide organization, we have included our Sacred Heart chapter within our Ladies' Altar Society.
